Main information

Lubelskie is landed on the borderline of west and east Christian territory and historically important trade routes, what shaped multiculturalism of this region. 

On the culture map of voivodeship, the first thing we can notice is Lublin – the capital of the region, where we can find attractive locations like Juliusz Osterwa theatre (place with great history and artistic achievements), The Old Theatre, Music Theater , Scena Plastyczna KUL, Filharmonia Lubelska, modern Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, which they perform simultaneously artistic, animation, educational and promotional functions, lot of galleries, museums (including National Museum in Lublin, State Museum at Majdanek, Lublin Village Open Air Museum), concert halls or Houses of Culture. Cultural Lublin is also Zamość – the pearl of UNESCO (with Lato Teatralne and functioning since many years Symphony Orchestra of Karol Namyslowski in Zamosc, picturesque Kazimierz Dolny on the river Wisła, Nałęczów (with museums commemorating stay of Stanisław Żeromski and Bolesław Prus, Kozłówka with the famous Zamoyski Museum, Zwierzyniec (Summer Film Academy) and other cities which are organising many kinds of events and creating rich culture offer of region.

Lubelskie is full of life during the year, but most attractive events are held in the summer. There are Carnaval Sztukmistrzów (one of the biggest festivals in the world of circus and buskerism), Inne Brzmienia Art’n’Music Festival (artist representing music trends far from commercial) in Lublin, Film and Art festival Two Riversides in Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec, Ogólnopolski Festiwal Kapel i Śpiewaków Ludowych (The biggest event in Poland promoting authentic music from villages and townships) and Kazimiernikejszyn (energetic concerts with magic of the Vistula city) in Kazimierz Dolny, Capital of the Polish Language festival – week-long marathon devoted to the our native language with the participation of the greatest Polish artists, Jagiellonian Fair (celebration of folk tradition and culture) and European festival of taste (the biggest in region  presentation of Polish and our south and west neighbors traditional cuisine) in Lublin, Festival of the Three Cultures in Włodawa– reminding multi religious and multicultural tradition of The Bug river city, Lublin “Night of Culture” and much more events and music, movies and theatre festivals. Every visitor of our region can find something for himself. A multitude and variety of proposals makes Lubelskie a very important cultural region of Poland.
