Unlike most of highly urbanised regions in Poland, Lubelskie provides well spent rest close to nature. The rich offer of rural and agritourism completes the nature and active tourism – with thousands kilometers of marked hiking, biking, canoeing and horse-riding routes and many nature and educational paths.
Lubelskie is one of most “green” and ecologic clean Europe’s regions. The valleys of Vistula, Bug, Wieprz, Janowskie Forests, Solska Wilderness, Roztocze and Polesie are very attractive, but still not well known tourist areas. They are worth discovering, as the lovers of bicycle tourism riding the East Bicycle Rout GREEN VELO or Central Bicycle Roztocze Rout are increasingly finding out about ( both routes are classified as the most attractive in the country).
The natural wealth of the region is accompanied by a wonderful cultural heritage, which is a mosaic of many traditions and religions of the East and West. Among the most popular places there are worthy of mentioning: perfect renaissance stronghold-city Zamość (a statue of world legacy UNESCO); picturesque, and beloved by painters and film-makers Kazimierz Dolny on Vistula, original Old Town with former royal Castle (currently National Museum) in Lublin; Cathedral Mountain and unique chalk baults in Chełm; Castle and Park complex in Biała Podlaska; a palace settlement in a landscape park in Puławy; a magnate residence in Kozłówka; orthodox monastery in Jabłeczna, Arabian horse stud in Janów or Health Resort in Nałęczów.
The historical values of many cities are complemented by the constantly expanded offer of new tourist products, like: family entertainments and education parks; villages, farms and themed trails, and also festivals, fairs and other events organised in historical open air locations. Recreation in Lublin region is favored by a developed network of hotels, guesthouses, agritourism farms, offering both comfortable rest and tasty regional cuisine, as well as attractive stay programs, often referring to the local traditions. Many places also offer Wellness & SPA services expected by the tourists.
