Our Lady of Hungary Co-Cathedral
The Our Lady of Hungary Co-Cathedral was built between 1902 and 1904. The neo-Romanesque exterior of the church, with its rich articulation, buttresses and decorative elements, is a remarkable work of Hungarian ecclesiastical architecture. The two towers of the building are a landmark of the town of Nyíregyháza.
Sóstógyógyfürdő
Sóstógyógyfürdő is a resort famous of its medicinal water, located barely 6 kilometres from the city centre at the edge of the oak forest surrounding the city, around the lake that has saline water. The lake is suitable for bathing, boating, paddle boating, or fishing, while sport lovers can indulge in their passion and run on the tartan track.
A walk downtown
Mihály Váci, a famous person born here, said about the inner city: ‘… not a historic city. No battles or peace treaties are associated with its name, there aren’t a number of famous historic places, old monuments with kings’ footprints here …’ but its beauty and atmosphere can carry visitors away.
