Mundruczó’s Film “Pieces of a Woman” nominated for Oscar

Main character of latest Kornél Mundruczó’s film entitled Pieces of a Woman (played by Vanessa Kirby) was nominated for an Oscar on Monday in Los Angeles.

Mundruczó’s movie tells a story of a young mother’s home birth which ends in unfathomable tragedy. Year-long oddysey of mourning that fractured relathionships with loved ones. Deeply personal story as woman learns to live while her tragic loss is revealed.

Viola Davis, Andra Day, Frances McDormand and Carrey Mulligan are also among nominees in the same category.

Nominees for Best International Film included Danish Another Round, movie from Hong Kong entitled Better Days, the Romaniam film Collective, Tunisian The Man Who Sold His Skin and Quo Vadis, Aida? from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Winners of The 93rd Awards Gala of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be emerged on Sunday, April 25, in Los Angeles.
